This Is Eco-Sex…. incarnate.
Planet-sized props must go to New York University student Emma Kaywin, who has managed to make a gorgeous, totally one-of-a-kind dress out of expired condoms. Yes, my pretties — condoms. As a pile of condoms from her HIV Hotline internship were about to expire, she got majorly creative and fashioned them into a dress. And it’s actually a super hot dress — I’d totally wear it. Combining the practical arts of reducing, reusing and recycling into one, Kaywin wowed her professors at the Eco-Fashion Week sponsored by my alma mater, The Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
In the meantime, if you’ve used up all your rubbers and are in the market for more, make sure to buy Fair Trade condoms from French Letter, or vegan condoms from Glyde.
Thanks to the lovely ladies at ecouterre for this very cool story.
